Chive (Allium Schoenoprasum) is a perennial plant, a species of the genus Allium of the Alliaceae family.The bulbs are oblong-ovate with brown, paper-like, almost leathery membranes. The stalk is thick, cylindrical, 10-60 cm high.The umbrella is beam-spherical or almost spherical, dense. The leaflets are brilliant, from pale pink to pink-purple. Flowering period is from May to August.The plant propagates vegetatively and by seeds, and gives abundant self-seeding.
